Otherwise, innocent people might get hurt.
Off duty cop gets into gun fight with a criminal (under shady circumstances), shoots criminal in the hand and also hits innocent woman in the head.
We're told by the gun controllers/banners that police officers have super duper elite training that makes them the only ones qualified to carry a gun. We're also told that gun-carrying, permit holding citizens are just a bunch of wannabe Dirty Harrys who will fill the streets with the blood of innocent bystanders.
But the facts are clear: 11% of police shootings kill an innocent person - about 2% of shootings by citizens kill an innocent person.

New Jersey: Ranked #2 by the Brady Campaign.
For all we're told about low Brady Ranked states being super deadly places where bullets are just flying around killing everything, you don't hear too many stories like this coming out of them.
After the shooting of a police officer by a repeat, violent offender, this happened:
Are Gestapo-style raids the price to pay for compromising with the gun controllers? Remember Brian Aitken? Is that part of the deal as well? One thing is for sure: That type of heavy-handed police behavior wouldn't work too well in Oklahoma. It might have something to do with being ranked 49th by the Brady Campaign.
After the shooting of a police officer by a repeat, violent offender, this happened:
More than 100 local, county, state and federal officers completed a house-to-house search overnight in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred, at times barging into homes at gunpoint and ordering inhabitants to get on the floor.

A SNAFU in the most literal meaning of the word.
From the great state of Maryland, (where my concealed carry permit is not honored, they only have may issue carry permits, and the Only Ones® can carry a gun anywhere they please) we have this story:
These guys are definitely no Joe Zamudio.
Officer William Torbit, 33, was shot and killed by his fellow officers who responded to his calls for help to break up a brawl outside of the Select Lounge Nightclub on Paca Street around 1:15 a.m. Sunday. Police say officers fired a total of 41 shots, killing two people and wounding four others.
These guys are definitely no Joe Zamudio.

Why police shoot guys with knives.
This is also another example of why repeat violent criminals should stay locked up.

Maurice Pierce, who was once jailed in Austin's infamous 1991 yogurt shop murders and had remained a suspect in the unresolved case, was shot dead Thursday night after taking a police officer's knife and slashing the officer's trachea and carotid artery, police said Friday.

"Shootings of police officers are on the increase."
"Shootings of police officers are on the increase." - Joan Peterson
It seems that over the past 20 years shootings of police officers have been on an overall decrease, not an increase.

Even if the police are outside of your front door, they still can't protect you.
'Deadly delay': Police wait while mother, sons slain
Typical anti-gun refrain: "We don't need the Second Amendment. We have police to protect us now!" Then I say, "What's the point of limiting guns to those who lack the will to use them for your protection?"
The reality is police carry guns for one reason only: To protect themselves. Not to protect you. Police presence does not negate the need for you to protect yourself. In fact, police have no legal obligation to protect you. If you want protection, you must provide it for yourself.
The District police department policy on forcible entry caused a "deadly delay" as officers waited for a supervisor outside an apartment while a mother and her two young sons were being stabbed to death inside, according to a lawsuit filed by the woman's family.

Why do they even have police?
What purpose is served by disarming those who are supposed to protect the disarmed?
via The Daily Express:
In the US, when an active shooter kills a dozen people, it's usually because the police have yet to respond. Yet in the UK, the police respond, confront the shooter, and being unarmed, allow the shooter to continue killing at his leisure.
Keep in mind that this insanity is not without American approval:
via The Daily Express:
CRAZED gunman Derrick Bird was cornered by police after killing three people but pointed his firearm at the officers and escaped to murder nine more, it emerged yesterday.
...
The unarmed officers finally caught up with Bird’s grey Citroen Picasso but were forced to dive for cover when he pulled into a driveway and aimed his gun at them.
...
They were forced to dive for cover under their dashboard, allowing Bird to drive off and claim nine more victims.

To gun banners, there is no such thing as a good gun. They want them all. When Tom Diaz, of the Violence Policy Center, was on Gun Talk, I forced him to admit that he would like to ban all guns. What about the police, I asked. Once we get all the other guns, he said, the police won't need their guns, either.

Obey the law, get harassed by the police?
This makes a good case for carrying a recording device, whether you open carry, conceal carry, or don't carry at all.

Yet another tale from Bizarro World.
Burglars make off as police take 50 minutes to attend emergency call.
Like most DGUs, the gun did not have to be fired. Just the presentation of the firearm was enough to scare off the robbers and save Mr. Thomas's property.
"One of them was loading the bikes into his car and the other was breaking into the conservatory. I opened the bedroom window and shouted out `Do not move – I have got a loaded gun on you`.”
Mr Thomas conned the burglars into believing he had already dialled 999 and that the police were on their way.
When they saw his shotgun they begged for their lives and started unloading their haul of stolen mountain bikes from their car.
They claimed to have thought the premises were empty.
The raiders drove off into the night as Mr Thomas lowered his gun and finally went to summon police.
Like most DGUs, the gun did not have to be fired. Just the presentation of the firearm was enough to scare off the robbers and save Mr. Thomas's property.

Is Sheriff Alderden really subverting the CSU gun ban?
Jim Alderden is back in the news.
From a surprisingly pro self-defense post on HuffPo:
It's good to hear that Alderden hasn't changed his position. But I think "undermine" and "subvert" are the wrong words. These are the same scare words the anti-gunners used when gun manufacturers complied with the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.
Regardless of the action (or inaction) Alderden takes, CSU's gun ban will still stand. It will not be undermined or subverted. CSU will retain the right to take whatever action they deem appropriate against a student who violates the ban. What Alderden is doing is refusing to take legal action against someone who isn't breaking the law and for that, he should be applauded.
And I love this quote from Alderden:
Indeed, Sheriff. Emotionalism is ware of the gun control movement and thank you for not buying it.
From a surprisingly pro self-defense post on HuffPo:
After the Colorado State University Board of Governors voted to ban guns and other weapons at the Pueblo and Fort Collins campuses, Alderden went on record with the Colorado Springs Gazette to say that he would do all he could to undermine what he considers a dangerous policy. That includes refusing to book otherwise compliant concealed-carry holders who are arrested by CSU-Fort Collins campus cops into his jail, and testifying on behalf of them in court.

Bad weather is not an excuse to confiscate guns.
Sorry, Bill. A state of emergency is when you need your gun the most. Especially in an emergency like Katrina where the police tucked tail and ran (or became looters themselves).
Taking guns from people who aren't breaking the law does not control looting. Luckily, such an act is now illegal.
The government loses 300 guns in two years
The only people that the gun controllers think are responsible enough to carry firearms, loses 300 guns.
Department of Homeland Security officers lost nearly 300 guns over a two-year span, leading to disciplinary actions and increased training, according to a new federal report.
An inquiry by the department's inspector general found that most of the weapons -- including handguns, shotguns and military rifles -- went missing as a result of negligence on the part of employees.
Nearly 200 of the guns were lost in "bowling alleys, public restrooms, unlocked cars and other unsecure areas, with some ending up in the hands of felons," USA Today reported.
The report outlines 289 missing firearms from fiscal year 2006 through 2008. Some of the guns were lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and others were stolen from safes.
Most of the weapons were never found.

Security will protect you.
Really? Why even call yourself "security" if no one around you is secure?
Of course they aren't legally obligated to protect you. And neither are the police for that matter. So why not call these uniformed individuals what they really are: professional witnesses and clean up crew? Also keep in mind that this happened in the same city where up until recently they banned the carrying of guns for self-defense in parks (where "security" isn't even present).

An Oath Breaker...
Detective Rod Tuason is an Oath Breaker; The complete opposite of an Oath Keeper.
Being that this is in The People's Republik of Kalifornia, which turds would that be? The ones who ride in the back of the police car or the ones who ride up front? If it weren't for the uniforms and badges, i'd have a hard time telling which is which.
And it's the open carry people who are dangerous and intimidating? The gun controllers lost their collective mind when Chris Broughton simply carried an AR-15. What will they say about Rod Tuason wanting to gun down people with his?
As usual The Brady Campaign's silence will be deafening, as this fine uniform wearing turd is one of their Chosen Ones, whose badge is a magical talisman that imbues him with the self-control to openly carry an assortment of weaponry in public.
The Rod Tuasons of the world are more dangerous than any open carrier. He's the type of authoritarian, jack-booted, oath-breaking turd the gun controllers rely upon to enforce their civilian disarmament agenda.
"Haha, we had one guy last week try to do it!" Tuason replied, referring to a Redwood City man who strolled into the Mi Pueblo Food Center in East Palo Alto on Jan. 27 with a gun on his hip. "He got proned out and reminded where he was at and that turds will jack him for his gun in a heartbeat!"

After several more comments in the thread, Tuason apparently joked that officers should shoot the advocates, who have made recent headlines throughout the Bay Area for sipping coffee at cafes and performing other everyday acts with visible weapons.
"Sounds like you had someone practicing their 2nd amendment rights last night!" Tuason wrote. "Should've pulled the AR out and prone them all out! And if one of them makes a furtive movement ... 2 weeks off!!!"

Lloyd R. Woodson's grenade launcher.
BRANCHBURG -- Somerset County investigators seized a cache of weapons including a grenade launcher and hundreds of rounds of ammunition today from the Branchburg motel room of a Virginia man, who also had maps of a U.S. military facility and an out-of-state civilian community.
Of course, the "grenade launcher" was in fact a flare launcher.

This is why you can't second guess the "police" that are kicking in your door.
After reading this post from mikeb302000, I happened across this article:
Intruder claiming to be police shoots through Oklahoma City homeowner's door.

Intruder claiming to be police shoots through Oklahoma City homeowner's door.
As his door was being kicked in during the middle of the night, George Lemmon grabbed his gun and his phone and yelled at the door that "I have a gun pointed at you and I'm on the phone with police."
...
"The suspect yelled back at (the homeowner) that he was the police and fired a shot through the door," Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. "Obviously he was not a police officer."

Another sad tale from Bizarro World.
On this blog, England will be officially known as Bizarro World.
via the Dailymail
I'm not aghast. Now if the Bizarro World police had actually tried to look for the trespassers while making sure to do extra drive bys of Ms. Klass' property, that would leave me aghast.

via the Dailymail
"Miss Klass, 31, who is described as a television presenter and Marks & Spencer model, was home alone with her two-year-old daughter when she disturbed two youths acting suspiciously in her back garden in the early hours.
They attempted to break in to her garden shed, and as they approached the kitchen window she waved a knife to scare them off.
When the police arrived on the scene the youths had fled, leaving only footsteps in the snow. Rather than follow their trail, the officers were more concerned with Miss Klass's reaction. They told her she should not have brandished the kitchen knife because it was an offensive weapon and she could be arrested.
Her agent said: 'Myleene was utterly terrified. She was aghast when she was told that the law did not allow her to defend herself in her own home."
I'm not aghast. Now if the Bizarro World police had actually tried to look for the trespassers while making sure to do extra drive bys of Ms. Klass' property, that would leave me aghast.
"When Hertfordshire Police talk about 'safety, justice and reassurance for all', they include criminals, too.
Like all police forces today, they are as concerned about the safety of villains as they are about the victims."

3-year-old kills cousin with gun of his father, a police officer.
One for David Codrea's "Only Ones" files.

The Richland Parish sheriff says an off-duty police officer's 3-year-old son apparently shot and killed a 3-year-old cousin with his father's gun.
Sheriff Charles McDonald says the children, a boy and girl, were playing together Thursday when the Rayville police officer went to get something out of his car.
He says the gun was in the driver's side door. The sheriff says the boy picked up the gun and accidentally shot the girl.
McDonald says she died instantly.
He did not release the officer's or the children's names.

If she lived in England...
She'd be the criminal and the guy breaking into her home would have been the victim. Actually, if she had lived in England, she probably wouldn't have even had a gun. Luckily, she didn't live in England and the worst outcome never came to be.
The police weren't able to reach her in time, so she had to use a firearm to defend herself from a violent intruder. Those who think gun owners are trigger-happy and just waiting to shoot someone over the smallest sleight should listen to this 911 call.
Far from an angry man with a gun, this woman exercised great restraint towards her intruder. The only angry man in this situation was the one without the gun. Unsurprisingly, this angry man had a criminal record.
So it's not angry men with guns who are a problem. It's angry people period, those with guns and without guns who are the threat to society. The inability to recognize this fact is the failing of the pro gun-control pseudo-intellectual types.

This is why you lock them up. Part III
By now, everyone has heard of Maurice Clemons. The now dead child molesting ex-con who was a person of interest in the execution of 4 Seattle area police officers. Naturally, the gun controllers begin their "blood dance". But some in the media are smart enough to see the real problem.
Clemons is just another in a long line of violent, repeat offenders, who if still locked up up, would have never been able to commit their latest heinous crime.
Increased restrictions on guns might have saved the lives of those four police officers. Keep in mind, Clemons was already breaking numerous firearm laws by simply possessing a firearm. However, the surefire way to have prevented those officers' deaths and even Clemons own death was to never have let Clemons out in the first place. Anyone with a record as long and brutal as his should have stayed locked up.
