The motive for the gruesome attack was to warn social media users not to criticise Mexican drug cartels on the internet.

Next to the battered bodies was a sign reading: ‘This is going to happen to all those posting funny things on the internet, You better (expletive) pay attention. I’m about to get you.’

The Mexican people have been rendered defenseless in their own country, leaving them to live at the whim of the narco-terrorists. This is the CSGV's "monopoly of force" theory in action. Unfortunately, their theory does not take into account a corrupt and/or inept government such as the Mexican government.

Garcia, Mexico (CNN) -- Officials in a northern Mexican city plagued by violence say a new course will take a fresh approach toward protecting citizens: Training people to handle and shoot guns.

The aim of the approach, says Garcia Mayor Jaime Rodriguez Calderon, is putting a stop to crime in the 40,000-person city in Nuevo Leon state.

Garcia's program is not the first citizen-defense proposal in Nuevo Leon state involving weapons. State lawmakers are also studying a proposal that would relax weapons restrictions there.

First Mexico, now this.

Looks like the perfect storm is on the horizon. And don't doubt for a minute that The Usual Suspects are polishing their dancing shoes.

So what will happen next? We'll find out that the shooter had a "high powered semi-automatic assault weapon" with a "high capacity magazine" filled with "armor piercing bullets". The Usual Suspects will issue numerous press releases pushing for a federal ban of "high powered semi-automatic assault weapons". President Obama will say something remarkably vague as usual. One of his attack dogs (Clinton or Holder) will say something bold like, "We need more gun control." The NRA will release a form statement ("We're sorry for the loss, gun control won't work because the shooter already broke numerous gun control laws."). The talking heads of MSpiNBC will blame the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin. Then the real rabble will get roused and will write editorials calling for nationwide gun confiscations and bans on all guns. Conspiracy theories about false flag attacks will float about. Finally, everyone will run out and stock up on guns, ammo, and magazines.

All in all, this is the nightmare scenario for those who support the Second Amendment and the pay day of all pay days for The Usual Suspects. So gird your loins and dig in your heels, ladies and gentleman. This is going to be a long, ugly fight.

Okay, not really. But the following comment begs the question: Ignorance, dishonesty, or malevolent ignorance?

The "bust" pictures? Hand grenades and RPGs are sold at gun shows all over the country. They could be sold by private sellers who may or may not require background checks.

Apparently, P.T. Barnum was right. The first link is to the type of baseless, unsubstantiated story that makes up most of the gun control movement's "facts". The second link is an anonymous classified ad (because none has ever submitted a fake classified ad). The third link is a demilled grenade which you can buy at any government auction or military surplus store.

And the final link flies completely in the face of the notion that American gun shows are arming Mexican criminals as it's an example of the complete opposite. Apparently, it's Mexican criminals that are attempting to sell their grenades here in the US.

Common sense and critical thinking skills go hand in hand. One cannot exist without the other. It's apparent that Joan Peterson possess neither, otherwise she would do more than post random Google results as her proof that hand grenades are being sold at American gun shows.

According to a new report, U.S. Firearms Trafficking to Mexico, by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the University of San Diego Trans-Border Institute, of 75,000 firearms seized by the Mexican government in the last three years, about 80%, or 60,000 firearms, came from the United States.

Lie #24: "Violence in Mexico has increased..."

Realizing the 90% lie has been debunked into the ground, they've had to create a new magic number: 3 out of 4. Of course, it suffers the same flaw as the 90% lie. The "3 out of 4" is only 3 out of 4 of the guns that are submitted for tracing, which is less than 1/3 of the total number of guns confiscated. That results in only 1/4 of the confiscated guns being traceable to US gun stores. The remaining 3/4 come from other sources, including the Mexican government itself.

Reyes is accused of using a false name to buy five A-K 47s from Outdoor America, as well as transferring a 50-caliber Barrett rifle to someone who wasn't licensed to own it. ATF agents said Reyes would also use his residence at the Regency Tower in downtown Oklahoma City and other places across the state to pay others to purchase guns and then complete the work to have the weapons sent to Mexico. Authorities said they believed the guns were making it into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

What the "Wild, Wild West" really looks like.

A classic gun control refrain is, "[insert something stupid about guns], because this isn't the Wild, Wild, West!" It's probably second in popularity to the "Blood in the Street" meme

For the moment, let's ignore the fact that the "Wild, Wild West" is nothing more than a creation of Hollywood. What would a modern day "Wild, Wild West" look like? It would probably look a lot like present day Jamaica:



Jamaica: Sarah Brady Paradise. No gun show loophole. No open carry. No concealed carry. No "assault weapons" and for what few guns are legally available, they must be registered. And for what few people who can own guns, they must be licensed.

Remember, for every Australia and England, there is a Mexico and a Jamaica. The government monopoly on force that the gun controllers so desperately desire does not always lead to peace.

Actually, handguns are used for sport and they are used for killing. Just like any other tool, the uses of a handgun are only limited by ones imagination. I'd wager that most handguns are used to collect dust. The next most popular use is recreational shooting. I'll even go so far as to say "killing" is the least common use of a handgun in America. Even if every gun death were assigned to one handgun, it wouldn't be close to the number of handguns that are only used to put holes in paper.

So congrats to the protesters for not giving the gun controllers the chaos and bloodshed they hope for expect whenever someone carries a gun.

2009 Hall of Shame

1. Jimmy Carter - Apparently thinks anyone who owns one of the most popular, yet least abused firearms in the nation wants "to kill policemen or go to a school or workplace to see how many victims we can accumulate before we are finally shot or take our own lives." Who would have thought a peanut farmer would have a peanut brain?

2. MSNBC - A black man carries a gun and becomes an angry white person through the magic of television.

3. Eric Holder - Mexico, a country with a corrupt government and an even more corrupt police force has GTS. Apparently, the solution is to ban American's guns. Because if you ban guns in America, the drug cartels (organizations that own speedboats, submarines, airplanes, and helicopters) will never be able to get guns anywhere else. It's brilliantly stupid. No wonder Eric's been put into Joe Biden's soundproof room.

4. Fort Benning - Terrorists also eat food. Therefore, anyone who eats food is a terrorist.

5. Jim Darnell - With friends like this, who needs Josh Sugarmann? A real, live, breathing concern troll. At least someone was smart enough to delete his tripe before it cost them their entire subscriber base.

Mark Twain once said, "The trouble isn't that there are too many fools, but that the lightning isn't distributed right." Personally, I don't think there is enough lightning.

So for 2010, may the lightning be both plentiful and accurate. Especially around Washington D.C.

5 Things to Leave Behind in 2009

1. "Common Sense" - Anything preceded by the phrase "Common Sense" is more often than not, not.

2. Freaking out over Open Carry - It's legal. Get over it. This goes for both anti-gunners and pro-gunners.

3. Caring about Mexico - It was a cesspool before the assault weapons ban, it was a cesspool during the assault weapons ban, and it continued to be a cesspool after the ban sunset. Reinstating the assault weapons ban will not fix a single problem in Mexico.

4. The notion that the Second Amendment is about the National Guard or any other government organized force - The Heller case has been ruled for over a year now and all 9 justices agreed that the Second Amendment is an individual right, not a collective right.

5. "I believe in the Second Amendment, but..." - At that point you should just stop talking, because you're about the render the first half of your sentence irrelevant.

Speaking alongside Mexican President Felipe Calderón, Obama said he has "not backed off at all" on a campaign pledge to try to restore the ban. It was instituted under President Clinton and allowed to lapse by President George W. Bush.

"I continue to believe that we can respect and honor the Second Amendment right in our Constitution -- the rights of sportsmen and hunters and homeowners that want to keep their families safe -- to lawfully bear arms, while dealing with assault weapons that, as we know here in Mexico, are used to fuel violence," Obama said.

The "Constitutional Scholar" still doesn't get that 2nd Amendment is not about sports or hunting.

Confronting a Mexican drug war that is "sowing chaos in our communities," President Barack Obama signaled Thursday he will not seek renewal of a U.S. assault weapons ban but instead will step up enforcement of laws banning the transfer of such guns across the border.

Maybe Obama's words really do come with an expiration date.

Lie #12: “Please, cut off the flow of machine guns coming into the United States into Mexico.”

Has Geraldo ever been a credible source of information? He was one of the primary enablers of the "Satanic Panic" of the 80s. Now he's enabling the "Assault Weapon Panic":

General Wesley Clark says:

I think we need to re-institute the assault weapons ban in the United States. If people want machine guns, let them join the military. We got em! But for public and personal use, absolutely not. That’s how they are getting across the border, and what the Mexican Government has asked of us is, “Please, cut off the flow of machine guns coming into the United States into Mexico.”

I can't think too highly of general who doesn't even know what weapons his own military uses.
It seems Gen. Clark believes that semi-automatic rifles that are used by hundreds of thousands of people without incident (the ones that would be covered under an assault weapons ban) are the same as the fully automatic machine guns being used by his military and the drug cartels.

Machine guns like the ones being used by drug cartels are highly restricted in the US. They are registered with the BATF and watched very closely among many things. Even taking one out of the state it's registered in will net you 10 years in a federal prison. So it's obvious the drug cartel's guns aren't coming from the US. More than likely, they are coming from the same place as the drugs, RPGs, and hand grenades they also possess.
