A driver whose SUV plunged into a Northern California creek after he was startled by his hands-free cell phone device escaped the sinking vehicle by blasting out the window with a handgun.
And, no. This guy didn't have one of the ultra-rare California concealed carry permits. He was an off-duty security guard. Had he been a mere mortal, he might not have survived. After all, when seconds count, search and rescue is only minutes away.
