Lautenberg set to ressurect magazine ban.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg set the tone when he urged the two presidential candidates to outline their policies with respect to federal gun laws. And now, Sen. Frank Lautenberg's (D-N.J.) office is saying that he plans to reintroduce legislation that would curtail the ability of a shooter to fire at length without reloading.
"If reports are correct and a high-capacity gun magazine was used to commit these awful murders, Senator Lautenberg will absolutely renew his effort to limit the availability of this dangerous firearm attachment," Lautenberg's communications director Caley Gray told The Huffington Post.

I guess it's never too early to start politicking a tragedy.

One thing I am curious about is this: Of the many Democrats and Democrat apologists who dismissed Operation #fastandfurious (which is responsible for hundreds of deaths), how many of them will manage to muster up outrage over this shooting? I'm going to say 100% of them.

Gun controllers/banners aren't just a threat to gun owners.

Even if you don't own a gun, if their beliefs become mainstream and accepted by the government, you can still be subjected to their idiocy and hoplophobia:



That is the problem with the gun controller/banner mentality. It is ultimately rooted in Authoritarianism. Therefore, it is a threat to all rights: Your right to privacy. Your right to free spech. Your right of due process.

Let this incident be a warning to those who are apathetic towards the 2nd Amendment. You can't afford to sit this fight out. It doesn't matter whether you own a gun or not. It will eventually affect you. We're seeing the genesis of this with our own Zero Tolerance policies. (In New Jersey, unsurprisingly)

"We don't need states like Texas, Arizona and Alaska telling us how to protect our people from gun violence."

Says Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, a Democrat, is a U.S. Senator from New Jersey.

My response: Likewise, the rest of the the United States (especially the free states like Texas, Arizona, and Alaska) don't need the likes of you and your fellow gun banners/controllers telling us what kind of guns we can own, how many rounds of ammunition they can have in them, and whether or not we can sell them without government intrusion. We also don't take kindly to you throwing due process in the shredder either.

This is not a coincidence at all...

A "Beacon of Stupidity".

Evan Nappen pretty much pegged it. When it comes to guns, New Jersey is a "Beacon of Stupidity". This blog has chronicled a few examples of that stupidity.

As you read Mr. Nappen's words, realize that this stupidity is what the Brady Campaign wants for all of us and then some. New Jersey is only ranked #2 by the Brady Campaign with 73 out of 100 points. I assume to get to 100 points, even more stupidity would be required of New Jersey. Maybe even English levels of stupidity. That is a very scary thought.

So the next time you hear the gun-controllers/banners calling for "Common Sense Gun Control", remember New Jersey, the "Beacon of Stupidity".

I can remember a time when bringing a NERF gun to school would just mean you wouldn't get the NERF gun back until the end of the day. Apparently in New Jersey, it is now a crime.

Police charged the 7-year-old with possessing an imitation firearm in or on an education institution – a misdemeanor and a minor juvenile offense in New Jersey.

I used to be quite the NERF connoisseur back in the day. I can't recall any of them that look like an imitation firearm nor are NERF guns marketed as imitation firearms. I guess Zero Tolerance really is Zero Sense.

This is just one more case of if you value your happiness and freedom, stay far away from New Jersey.

New Jersey: Ranked #2 by the Brady Campaign.

For all we're told about low Brady Ranked states being super deadly places where bullets are just flying around killing everything, you don't hear too many stories like this coming out of them.

After the shooting of a police officer by a repeat, violent offender, this happened:

More than 100 local, county, state and federal officers completed a house-to-house search overnight in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred, at times barging into homes at gunpoint and ordering inhabitants to get on the floor.

Are Gestapo-style raids the price to pay for compromising with the gun controllers? Remember Brian Aitken? Is that part of the deal as well? One thing is for sure: That type of heavy-handed police behavior wouldn't work too well in Oklahoma. It might have something to do with being ranked 49th by the Brady Campaign.

The numbers don't lie.

Taken from the FBI's Uniform Crime Report (Table 2):

Murder is down across the board. Murder is down in every region... Except the Northeast. The same Northeast where you have the Brady Campaign's top ranked states like New Jersey and New York. And where is murder down the most? In the South where you have the Brady Campaign's lowest ranked states.

This is just further proof that gun control is not crime control.

Free Brian Aitken.

It's no secret that New Jersey is hostile to gun owners. It's a state where all gun owners are presumed guilty until proven innocent. This is also the same state that the Brady Campaign ranks as #2 for it's "strong gun laws"... And they want more. As if being imprisoned for doing nothing wasn't enough. So keep Brian Aitken in mind when you hear gun-controllers speak of "compromise". Arbitrary imprisonment is their "compromise".

Looks like it worked. Brian will soon be a free man. Will he get his guns back? Will he get his rights to buy a gun back? Will he stay in New Jersey?

Looks like he is getting out of New Jersey.

New Jersey law: Guilty until proven innocent.

At least that is what I gather from the story of Brian Aitken.

To buy a gun in New Jersey, you must go through a laborious process to obtain a "purchaser's permit." But that permit doesn't entitle you to possess a gun. A few select groups of people, mostly off-duty police officers and security personnel, can obtain carry permits. But anyone else with a gun is presumed to be violating state law and must defend against the charge of illegal gun possession by claiming one of the state's exemptions.

Putting Brian Aitken in prison isn't going to make New Jersey any safer. It might, however, make some of the state's residents think twice before calling the police, particularly if they own guns. It might even make some New Jersey gun owners wonder if they have more to fear from the state's ridiculous laws and overly aggressive cops and prosecutors than they do from criminals. Given what happened to Aitken, those fears wouldn't be unfounded.

That is absolutely right. Gun control was never meant to make people safer. The purpose of gun control is to use whatever methods necessary to discourage and prevent people from owning and carrying firearms; laws and rights be damned. If you have a gun, you are guilty in the gun controller's mind.
