Gun controllers/banners aren't just a threat to gun owners.

Even if you don't own a gun, if their beliefs become mainstream and accepted by the government, you can still be subjected to their idiocy and hoplophobia:



That is the problem with the gun controller/banner mentality. It is ultimately rooted in Authoritarianism. Therefore, it is a threat to all rights: Your right to privacy. Your right to free spech. Your right of due process.

Let this incident be a warning to those who are apathetic towards the 2nd Amendment. You can't afford to sit this fight out. It doesn't matter whether you own a gun or not. It will eventually affect you. We're seeing the genesis of this with our own Zero Tolerance policies. (In New Jersey, unsurprisingly)

If anything, at least he's consistent. Perhaps Josh is envious of the fact that he couldn't get nearly as many enthusiastic, dedicated people to show up in support of his ideals.

As much as he is lamenting the imaginary dangers of armed people peacefully gathering in full compliance of the law, I guarantee that on April 19th more people will be shot in gun free zones than at all of Second Amendment rallies combined.

You can always depend on the Pandagonians to mask their hoplophobia with misandry. Someone really should tell them that covering up bigotry with more bigotry doesn't work. Naturally, like all anti-gun screeds, there is no legitimate argument put forward, so they resort to references of penises. The open carrying of firearms in public places is inherently threatening and intimidating, and poses risks to those nearby, to law enforcement and to the community.

You'd think with such a dire threat, they would have some anecdotes of open carriers causing people harm or even just behaving in a disorderly fashion, but no.

For example, when open carry has occurred in retail stores, other customers quickly become alarmed and the police often are called to the scene, creating a volatile and potentially dangerous situation. Everyone should have the right to sit in a coffee shop or a restaurant with their families, including their children, without being confronted with the threatening presence of openly-displayed handguns and assault weapons.

That's it. The worst that has happened is that some people see a gun and react with fear. The gun isn't harming anyone, being pointed at anyone, or even handled. It's simply present. And that is apparently enough to petition for the prohibition/regulation of open carry.

Businesses should bar the open, as well as the concealed, carry of firearms on their premises. States where open carry is largely unregulated should either prohibit open carry, with limited exceptions, or adopt measures to subject open carry to strict licensing requirements in the interest of public safety.

Simply being afraid of someone or something is not enough of a reason to restrict someone's rights. That's why Jim Crow and Segregation are no longer around. You can't legislate based on feelings.

The right to carry is on the rise. You won't find many states willing to further curtail the right to bear arms. More people are exercising their right to carry, and thanks to recent legislative victories, they can carry in more places. As said on the Brady Campaign's own page, "More and more gun owners, seeking to “make a statement” about their right to have a gun, are openly carrying guns in public places..." Even Thug-in-Chief Edward Flynn is mulling over the idea of allowing concealed carry in one of the few states that don't allow it.

When will the Brady Campaign realize that just like the Segregationists, they are on the losing side of this issue?

In his attempt to fight pro-gun legislation in Indiana, Rep. Smith engages in a bit of Kabuki theater:

Donning a National Rifle Association cap and holding a toy pistol, state Rep. Vernon Smith, D-Gary, walked to the front of the Indiana House floor.

Explaining his support for the "Wild Wild West," he fired the fake pistol, saying, "Bang, bang, shoot 'em up!"

"This is indeed an NRA state," Smith said. "I pledge allegiance, not to the flag, but to the NRA."

The Indiana House says Noh.

"Miss Klass, 31, who is described as a television presenter and Marks & Spencer model, was home alone with her two-year-old daughter when she disturbed two youths acting suspiciously in her back garden in the early hours.
They attempted to break in to her garden shed, and as they approached the kitchen window she waved a knife to scare them off.

When the police arrived on the scene the youths had fled, leaving only footsteps in the snow. Rather than follow their trail, the officers were more concerned with Miss Klass's reaction. They told her she should not have brandished the kitchen knife because it was an offensive weapon and she could be arrested.

Her agent said: 'Myleene was utterly terrified. She was aghast when she was told that the law did not allow her to defend herself in her own home."

I'm not aghast. Now if the Bizarro World police had actually tried to look for the trespassers while making sure to do extra drive bys of Ms. Klass' property, that would leave me aghast.

"When Hertfordshire Police talk about 'safety, justice and reassurance for all', they include criminals, too.

Like all police forces today, they are as concerned about the safety of villains as they are about the victims."
