A catering chef was almost banned from buying two limes - because they could be classed as a weapon.

Chef Marisa Zoccolan, 31, popped into the new Asda supermarket close to her home in Wallsend, North Tyneside, for groceries and a couple of the offending fruits.
But when she tried to pay for them at the self-service checkout, the message 'amount exceeded, authorisation required' flashed up.
An assistant then came over and told her that more than one lime was deemed a weapon - because the citric acid could be squirted in someone's eye.

This is where the gun controller/banner mentality eventually leads. When they run out of guns to ban/control, they'll move to air guns, knives, large sticks, and eventually citrus fruits. In fact, I fully expect the UK to eventually ban stern looks. Stupidity has no limits.

Gun control leads to stupidity.

The institution of irrationality as law eventually leads to stupidity replacing common sense.

An unidentified source told the London Evening Standard, "We decided it would not be appropriate. It's the only sport children will not be able to go to as part of the Ticketshare scheme." And Danny Bryan, founder of Communities Against Gun and Knife Crime, said, "It is good kids should enjoy the Games but there's no way we should glorify guns."

Apparently, the fear is that children are going to see some guy poke a hole in a piece of paper with a target pistol and say to his/herself, "Gee, I oughta go out and shoot some people."

As crazy as that sounds, that has become acceptable logic in Sarah Brady Paradise. That is what happens when you allow the purely emotion and fear driven argument of "commonsense gun control" go unchecked.

Six Killed In Knife Attack On British Island

LONDON -- A man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of stabbing six people to death, including three children, on the British island of Jersey in what was the deadliest crime in the community's living memory, police said.

Naturally the victims were disarmed by their government. I thought these types of mass killings were supposed to stop when you ban guns because guns make it so easy to kill lots of people very quickly? I guess not. Well, one thing gun bans do ensure is that the victims are as defenseless as possible.

After reading about and watching the riots, I have to wonder how many business owners, shopkeepers, and various other property owners said to themselves, "I'm sure glad the government doesn't allow me to own or use a gun for defense."

It would be a place where where the strong ("properly constituted, trained and controlled agencies of governments" as he calls them) are free to do as they please to the weak (that's the rest of us). More often than not, in third world hell holes where ethnic cleansing is a part of daily life and the machete is the weapon of choice against those to be cleansed.

Brook allegedly attacked Witkowski with a kitchen knife, stabbing him repeatedly.

The Bolton News says the victim had 104 injuries including cuts, stab wounds, bruises and slice marks on his hands, with the fatal blow piercing his heart.

Aren't we always told by the gun-banners/controllers that if we have Commonsense gun control, angry confrontations will turn into "harmless" fistfights instead of deadly shoot outs? Apparently England's draconian knife laws aren't nearly as draconian as their gun laws. But they're getting there.

When guns are banned...

Criminals become innovative.

Det Con Dan Bryant said: "This was a highly-organised operation whereby Coke and Kadena were converting and modifying firearms, doubtless with the sole intention of selling them on to those intent on committing serious crime.

"They were dangerous and ruthless individuals, content in the knowledge they were producing deadly weapons in order to line their own pockets."

Why do they even have police?

What purpose is served by disarming those who are supposed to protect the disarmed?

In the US, when an active shooter kills a dozen people, it's usually because the police have yet to respond. Yet in the UK, the police respond, confront the shooter, and being unarmed, allow the shooter to continue killing at his leisure.

Keep in mind that this insanity is not without American approval:

Any bets on what knee jerk reaction will be taken? The UK already has some of the most oppressive gun control legislation in the western world. You'd have to live in communist China to have more restrictive gun laws.

More importantly, what kind of gun was used? Surely, you'd have to have a rapid-fire, "assault weapon" with a "high capacity" magazine to kill that many people. Oh wait, considering the entire nation of the UK has been rendered defenseless by the prohibition of the right to carry, I imagine you could take your time picking people off with even the most sporting of arms without worrying about anyone fighting back.

And lastly, will American gun control groups use this event to advocate further erosion of our Second Amendment rights?

Another sad chapter in the tale of the UK.

After banning handguns, the UK saw knife crime skyrocket to fill the void. To curb the knife crime, the UK has gone to ridiculous lengths to control knives. Well they've gone to a new length. Introducing the anti-knife chicken and chip box:

You CAN choose not to carry a knife

That's right. Knife crime is apparently so much of a problem that they've resorted to printing nanny state propaganda on your food. Apparently, these have been around for a few months, but it's new to me. How much do you want to bet this idea will soon reach Chicago? I think the odds are pretty high. I can see it now, "You CAN choose not to buy a gun." That would be the perfect Richard Daley overreaction to the overturning of Chicago's handgun ban.

Banned in the UK...

Flame throwing scooters are illegal in the UK. The reasoning? It's considered an object converted to a firearm.



Interestingly enough, flame throwers are legal to own in most of the US as they are not considered firearms. Naturally, California is one of the states that prohibits them. You can always depend on California to ban the fun stuff.

Yet another tale from Bizarro World.

Burglars make off as police take 50 minutes to attend emergency call.

"One of them was loading the bikes into his car and the other was breaking into the conservatory. I opened the bedroom window and shouted out `Do not move – I have got a loaded gun on you`.”

Mr Thomas conned the burglars into believing he had already dialled 999 and that the police were on their way.

When they saw his shotgun they begged for their lives and started unloading their haul of stolen mountain bikes from their car.

They claimed to have thought the premises were empty.
The raiders drove off into the night as Mr Thomas lowered his gun and finally went to summon police.

Like most DGUs, the gun did not have to be fired. Just the presentation of the firearm was enough to scare off the robbers and save Mr. Thomas's property.

"Miss Klass, 31, who is described as a television presenter and Marks & Spencer model, was home alone with her two-year-old daughter when she disturbed two youths acting suspiciously in her back garden in the early hours.
They attempted to break in to her garden shed, and as they approached the kitchen window she waved a knife to scare them off.

When the police arrived on the scene the youths had fled, leaving only footsteps in the snow. Rather than follow their trail, the officers were more concerned with Miss Klass's reaction. They told her she should not have brandished the kitchen knife because it was an offensive weapon and she could be arrested.

Her agent said: 'Myleene was utterly terrified. She was aghast when she was told that the law did not allow her to defend herself in her own home."

I'm not aghast. Now if the Bizarro World police had actually tried to look for the trespassers while making sure to do extra drive bys of Ms. Klass' property, that would leave me aghast.

"When Hertfordshire Police talk about 'safety, justice and reassurance for all', they include criminals, too.

Like all police forces today, they are as concerned about the safety of villains as they are about the victims."

A man robbed not once, but twice.

Here is a tale from the formerly Great Britain.

A pensioner who left two children "very frightened" after he went to his door with a gun because he heard a noise outside has been fined £367.

That doesn't sound so bad, right? You're probably envisioning some dusty old codger waving a rifle around at a bunch of kids try to retrieve their ball from his yard. Who wouldn't want to fine someone like that.

At an earlier hearing fiscal depute Ruth Ross-Davie said: "It was about 9pm when Knight was in his home and he heard a noise outside of his door and his response to that was to take one of his guns out with a view to frightening whoever was making a noise outside of his door.

OK. That makes sense. A guy hears noise outside of his house and goes to investigate. Not the wisest thing to do, but understandable.

Apparently, the boys were "very frightened". Surely, Knight was waving the gun in the air and pointing it at these two boys, right? Well... No.

The court heard the two boys saw Knight even though he did not see them and were "very frightened".

Surely, Mr Knight had a good reason for toting this dangerous weapon around his house.

He added that the weapon Knight had taken out was a Winchester Rifle with a long barrel and was not capable of firing.

Mr Robertson said Knight, who has poor eye sight, had become paranoid after he was robbed and his neighbours were robbed in their own home.

That seems like a good reason to have a gun. Although, i'd want a functioning firearm. So far, Knight hasn't done anything that I would consider worthy of legal punishment.

The defence agent added Knight knew that whatever provocation he had taken the wrong course of action.
The court also heard Knight was planning to sell his home and move into sheltered accommodation.

Of course it was the wrong course of action. This is England. Anything involving a gun, even a non-functioning gun, is the wrong course of action.

Sheriff Elizabeth Jarvie QC told Knight she took account of his previous good record and the unusual circumstances in the case.
She added that his fine would have been £500 but she had discounted it to reflect his early guilty plea.

Knight's guns have also been forfeited.

And there you have it. An old man who has been robbed hears a noise outside his house, arms himself with a non-functioning gun, and goes to investigate it only to be robbed by his government.

English police are re-arming themselves...

Shootings in Sarah Brady paradise? What about all their common sense gun control? Handgun ban? Semi-auto ban? Licensing and registration? Are none of those things working?

They will be armed with Heckler & Koch MP5 single-fire carbine guns and Glock semi-automatic pistols.

It seems the English press has the same problem as the American press. A single-fire carbine is not a machine gun as stated in the title.

Gun crime in London has risen year on year with the number of offences in the month of September alone up by 30 per cent from 230 last year to 300 this year.

Over the past year, gun crime in the capital has soared by 17 per cent with 1,736 incidents reported in London between April and September this year - 252 more than the same period last year.

That seems about right. For the past decade the English have been reducing the number of guns in the hands of the law-abiding. If more guns equals less crime, then it's safe to say fewer guns equals more crime.

And I love the last line in the article:

'Are we heading down a slippery slope towards armed rather than community policing? I hope the Met will rethink this terrible decision immediately and think of a genuinely proactive way to prevent gun crime.'

Whether you're a cop or civilian, being unarmed is anything but proactive.
