Yes. That's almost one person shot every hour.

This is the result of the "common sense" gun laws that President Obama not only supported in Chicago, but sought to "strengthen". It's also a taste of what the VPC wants for the rest of the nation. One giant victim disarmament/criminal enabling zone.

Blood in the Streets...

In Chicago, no less. One of the few places where you can't legally carry a gun.

At least 16 people were shot -- including two men who died and six people who were wounded in one chaotic Englewood incident -- in a span of about two hours late Thursday into early Friday.

Iowa is this [ ] close.

All that's needed is the governor's signature and Iowa will join the ranks of states that can't discriminate in the issuance of concealed carry licenses.

Now the question is what gun control law would have prevented that? Russia already has the Brady Campaign's wishlist of gun legislation. Not only can you not carry a handgun (concealed or open) or any other lethal weapon, you can't own a handgun at all. The only means of self-defense Russian people are allowed to own are air pistols like the one in the video. Would the Brady Campaign urge Russia to ban air pistols (even though they claim to not be a gun ban organization)?

Chinese Doctor Stabs Eight Children To Death:

Eight children have been stabbed to death by a former doctor at a primary school in China.

Five other children were wounded after the medic stormed into the school armed with a large knife.
The attacker - a former community clinic doctor with a history of mental problems - has been arrested.
Six of the children died at the scene and two others in hospital.
The attacker, who is 41 or 42, had resigned from his post at the community clinic, an official said.
The school, located in Fujian province, was closed and students were sent home.
China has witnessed a series of school attacks over the past several years, which are often blamed on personal grudges or people with psychiatric problems.

Considering that there is no right to carry in China, there was absolutely no chance of preventing this event. And sadly, American children aren't much safer from such an event. Gun Free Zones are nothing more than target rich environments.

How can I tell?

By the blood running through the streets in Gun Ban Land:

Fifteen people were shot -- including one man who died -- all over the city Thursday night in just under six hours.

How ironic that the gun banner's prediction of blood in the streets only happens in the places were people can't (legally) carry guns. Yet they still think people who are lawfully carrying guns are the problem.

Of course, this violence will be blamed on the places that haven't banned handguns, yet experience less violence.
